Weddings are the main part of my year, but they are not all of it. Between them I photograph families who have never managed one picture with everybody in it, couples who wanted an excuse to spend an evening well, people who need one portrait that actually looks like them, and christenings where nobody wants a flash going off during the blessing.
Everything below happens in Kaunas, anywhere in Lithuania, and in English. If you live abroad and are visiting — that is most of my portrait work in summer — say when you land and we will fit the session into the trip.
Family sessions
Almost every family has the same problem: ten thousand photographs on the phone and not one with everyone in it. Somebody is always the one taking pictures, so somebody is always missing — usually the mother.
A family session fixes that in an hour. The first fifteen minutes are what everyone expects: the group frame, everybody looking at the camera. That one is needed — it is the one that ends up on the wall and at the grandparents’ house. Then we stop posing: we walk, play, throw leaves, carry children on shoulders, and I photograph from the side without asking for much. To a child it feels like a walk rather than a photo shoot, which is exactly why their faces come out alive instead of “say cheeeese”. With teenagers it works in reverse: the less attention I give them, the better the frames.
Couples, engagements and pre-wedding sessions
For an anniversary, an engagement, or for no reason at all. If your wedding is coming, this is also the best possible rehearsal: an hour in front of a camera together means that on the wedding day the camera is no longer a stranger — and I already know how you two behave when nobody is watching.
Maternity
Best photographed between weeks 28 and 34, while moving is still comfortable and the bump is unmistakable. Outdoors in soft evening light, at home in your own bed and window light, or in the studio — often all three in one session.
Personal portraits
Portraits for yourself, for a profile, for a book cover or as a present. Most people start by saying they do not know how to be photographed; after 450+ weddings, photographing people who do not want to be photographed is the part of the job I know best. Bring two changes of clothes and let me handle the rest.
Studio sessions in Kaunas
Lithuania has roughly five months a year when an outdoor session is a pleasure. The other seven are a negotiation with the sky: it rains, it gets dark at four, or it is bright and minus ten. The studio exists so that a session does not have to be planned around a weather forecast.
It is a 300 m² space — a large family with grandparents fits comfortably, and children have room to run. During the session the studio is yours alone, with no other clients in the background. We start with the easy frames to warm up, and I change the light as we go: from soft window light to hard graphic light. In an hour we usually get through two or three different backgrounds and moods. There is space to change, music is yours to choose, and a seasonal Christmas studio session starts at €140.
Christenings
The ceremony without a flash, the child’s own session, and the celebration afterwards. Two packages:
- €370 — the christening ceremony, a 30-minute session with the child and 80 edited photographs (up to 2 hours).
- €470 — the same plus the preparations at home, 100 edited photographs and 2.5–3 hours.
In Kaunas there is no travel charge; further afield it is €25 per 100 km.
Celebrations and birthdays
Birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions and christening parties — photographed the same way I photograph a wedding banquet: from the side, without interrupting anything, and with the group photo taken before everyone is hungry.
